1) Where are you from?
For the first 18 years of my life, I lived in a tiny hick town in Northern Maine. Shortly after graduating from high school, I moved to Orono, Maine to attend college at the University of Maine. I got an apartment and have been here ever since.
2) How can I contact you?
The best way, obviously, is right here on my blog. I love getting comments, and I read every single one of them. Quite often, I will also reply to my comments, so if you ask a question and would like to know when I respond, I highly suggest checking the little box that says "email follow up comments to... (insert your email address here)"
If you'd rather not talk to me where everyone else can read it, your welcome to email me. However, I do ask that your emails be friendly, non-judgmental, and non-harassing. We all have our opinions, but sometimes its best to keep them to ourselves. No one is MAKING you read my blog, so if you have an issue with it... don't read it. Simple as that. :)

3) Why "Just The Ashes"?
Here's the story. My boyfriend has been a blogger for a long time. Since way before we even met. So, when we went to London in October of 2008, I thought it would be awesome for us to have our own travel blog so that we could keep family updated while we were there. The Spirited Misadventures of Professor Daniel and the Lady Ashes was born. The "username" for this blog was "danandashes". Afterwards, I decided that I wanted my own blog, that was just mine. Because it was just me as a writer, I chose the username "justtheashes". When I switched over to Blogger, I went with "Through the Lens of a Nikon" for awhile, and then just "Through the Lens." However, as my blog moved away from solely photography to more writing about my life, I decided to go back to "Just The Ashes", because really, that's what my blog is. Just me, just my life.
